It was just too good and Wizards didn't do anything about it - I know a lot of people who just said they weren't willing to pay the $50/Warcharm price needed to compete (myself included). Its a real shame - its a very good game and my wife and I still play with the minis that I bought (and I'll probably pick up some off the clearance racks when they hit bottom). We somehow managed to stay on the "stores hosting a 1k list." I have NO idea how... But I can tell ya, I don't think anyone is suprised that they are scaling back.
