Author and historian Stephen E. Ambrose died this morning at the age of 66. Although only ten years old at the end of WWII, Ambrose became that war’s foremost historian with a string of books that focused on the contributions of regular line soldiers instead of their more famous commanders. His most famous works include Band of Brothers and Citizen Soldiers. He will be missed by all who value the sacrifice made by the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who gave their lives for our freedom.
While you are at it, please remember to take some time to thank any veterans you might know. An event like this reminds us that they are not going to be with us forever.
