As a matter of fact, you haven’t heard it all before

Jane’s RPGnet report on girls at Gen Con does not read like the eleven million “women in gaming” articles you’ve already read in your short, damned life. Jane gets the perspectives of four specific people and focuses on that, not the same old generalizations. Women already feel like outsiders too often in gaming culture, but Jane’s magic combo of double outsider-hood, along with her keen interest in both gaming and people, really makes this article fire on all cylinders. Read it.

  1. I don’t know. It’s a pretty short read, and develops pretty much like other 404 error pages I’ve encountered in the past, without even a customized style set to really make it stand out from the crowd. I’d have to give it a 2 out of 10.

  2. Dammit, Bones… I’m an ogre, not a web master! *snicker* Sorry, guys. Couldn’t resist that one. *Grin* But he’s right, o’ Ogre of the Cave. As of this moment in time, the link is broken and leads to a 404 error page. Time to get out the hammer and chisel and fix that code! =)

  3. Remind me to educate some folks over at RPGnet on which characters should and should not be used in permanent URLs. Remind me to use something heavy and painful to administer this education.
