Pinnacle to create WizKids RPGs

In a press release today, it was announced that Pinnacle Entertainment Group has been granted the rights to create roleplaying products based on WizKids properties like Mage Knight and the Pirates CSG. Pinnacle, in the form of Great White Games, will also be able to design scenario books for WizKids lines, up to and including new game pieces. This seems like a smart partnership, especially for WizKids. When wading out into a new market, always swim with a buddy.

  1. I am assuming this doesn’t effect FanPro with their Shadowrun and Classic Battletech lines? I didn’t see mention of that in the press release…

  2. I’m pretty sure that this only covers Mechwarrior: Dark Ages – they seem to have really tried to make a distinct seperation between Classic and Dark Ages. I think the Shadowrun thing was just an experiment by WizKids.

  3. perhaps this means that we will get the Crimson Skies RPG we never… Probably not. More likely are Pirates of the caribbean and Rocketmen: Axis of Evil. To be honest, we hardly need the former, but if done right, the latter could be excellent.

  4. On a whole kinda aside…being slightly behind the curve (as usual) I just saw my first pics of ships from South China Seas. NEAT!
