OgreCave GNU – DunDraCon 35 (Darren Watts/Hero Games & IPR)
by admin on Mar.10, 2011, under Convention coverage, GNU episode, Interviews
Recorded at DunDraCon 35, this Gaming News Update gets the annual update from Darren Watts, though now in addition to his Hero Games responsibilities he also serves as President of Indie Press Revolution. DunDraCon tradition demands we hear all the knowledge Darren wishes to impart, so listen attentively! Darren describes the Hero System Sixth Edition Equipment Guide and Villains 2, then smoothly transitions to his IPR hat as he mentions the highlights from his “What’s Hot” seminar with Ken Hite: Fiasco (Bully Pulpit Games), Blowback (Two Scooters Press), The Dresden Files (Evil Hat Productions), Smallville and Leverage (Margaret Weis Productions), and other topics. (Many of these hot items were in our latest OgreCave Christmas Gift Guide, by the way.)

OgreCave GNU – NeonCon ’10 (Matt Grau/Infrno)
by admin on Nov.13, 2010, under Convention coverage, GNU episode, Interviews
Recorded at NeonCon 2010, this Gaming News Update gives you the lowdown on all the current projects Matt Grau has his hands in, as told by the man himself. Firstly, Matt tells us about Infrno, the “Facebook for gamers” and electronic tabletop gaming site (and no, “Infrno” is not a typo). Then we hear what WildFire is up to, starting with Cthulhutech, Matt’s well-known RPG system. As Matt puts it, Cthulhutech is for Cthulhu game fans who “want to be able to shoot back for once.” Matt also tells us about the Cthonian Stars RPG, and Nuts, the sequel to this year’s Origins Award winner for Best Card Game, Poo.

OgreCave GNU – NeonCon ’10 (Ryan Macklin/Mythender)
by admin on Nov.13, 2010, under Convention coverage, GNU episode, Interviews
In this Gaming News Update recorded at NeonCon 2010, I catch up with Ryan Macklin of the Internet (also of Dresden Files RPG fame, and the Master Plan podcast), and get the skinny on Mythender, his RPG side project for the last three years. Ryan tells us about destroying the gods, and being epic without becoming what you despise the most. If you want to slay deities, to tear down pantheons, and just be awesome, you’ll want to hear about Mythender. Expect to see the game by Gen Con 2011 (approximately) from Evil Hat Productions.
