Warhammer Fantasy LCG announced by Fantasy Flight
There have been hints and rumblings over at Fantasy Flight about another Living Card Game, and today FFG finally spilled the beans. The next LCG property we can expect is the Warhammer: Invasion LCG, which is based on the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay setting and continues to take advantage of FFG’s licensing arrangement with Games Workshop. Just in case Warhammer fans aren’t excited enough by this announcement yet, FFG also announced the Core Set would also contain codes for two exclusive items for the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning MMO.

How does this tie into the rumors of WFRP 3? I wonder if folks heard about this and thought it was the next version of WFRP. Using cards with a tie to the MMO sounds awefully similar to the rumors of a 3.0 WFRP.

The WFRP 3 rumors are because of a few things
1) The Blog of Graham McNeil (writer for BL and was a play tester of WFRP 2nd Ed) where he talks about getting to try 3rd Ed of WFRP
2) FFG’s decision to do no physical reprints of any out of print WFRP 2nd Ed books (only PDF releases)
3) If you listen to some of the champions of a 3rd ed the current edition is has been out too long to be profitable and the mechanics are not modern enough.
